We take learning outside the walls and boundary of our childcare centre and into the beautiful natural surroundings of Greta Point, Porirua. Your child will climb trees, jump in puddles, look for sea shells … learning while having fun leaves them with a lifetime of memories and strong foundation for all future education. Our unique nature-based early childhood programme is delivered by experienced childcare teachers in partnership with parents and whanau.
Holistic learning
Our curriculum emerges from your child’s interests and unfolds and changes each day. As teachers we provide the resources, time, space and support for your child to explore, experiment and try things out. A lot of what we do extends beyond the boundaries of our centre through nature walks and outings – something that sets us apart from others.

Parent Feedback
We were so worried about how daycare would go but everyone at AE was so kind and caring with our little one. He became so confident while he was there and was very happy at drop off, so we knew he was being cared for and having fun. We miss you guys!
The staff are friendly and are really engaged with the children. There is a lot of variety in the activities they do and when asked they always say they have had a good day. The luxury of having an on-site chef with such good food is amazing.
Our little family has been part of the Active Explorers Greta Point whānau for almost 5 years now and we wouldn’t have it any other way. The Kaiako are friendly, they are engaging and they value our children’s needs and wants. The classroom spaces and outdoor areas are large.
