Our philosophy is guided by a connection to the environment and to each other. We strive to provide children with a warm and nurturing environment and inspire our tamariki to develop a healthy, happy and secure approach to living and learning.

0-2 Years: Pīwakawakwa Room

The Pīwakawakwa room is a calm and respectful space with RIE-inspired practice. Here, our youngest tamariki are supported to learn and explore at their own pace. The environment is thoughtfully set up to encourage gentle, unhurried discovery, with areas for safe physical movement and sensory exploration, while focusing on a strong sense of belonging.

2-3 Years: Kiwi Room

The Kiwi room is a warm space equipped with age-appropriate resources for children aged 2-3. years. Here, children build self-confidence and social skills with the support of their teachers. The Kiwi Room philosophy is inspired by Reggio Emilia principles. The environment acts as a “third teacher,” offering open-ended materials, sensory investigations and plenty of nature explorations.

3-4 Years-Tūī-Room

3-4 Years: Tūī Room

The Tūī Room is an engaging and creative space designed for curious 3–4-year-olds. Here, tamariki are supported to ask questions, collaborate with peers, and explore their emerging interests. Inspired by Reggio Emilia principles, the environment encourages inquiry through hands-on projects, open-ended resources and imaginative play. Teachers work alongside children as co-learners, guiding them to develop
problem-solving skills and confidence.

4-5 Years: Pūkeko Room

The Pūkeko Room is a purposeful learning environment that prepares our older tamariki for the transition to school. Children aged 4–5 are encouraged to take on new challenges, make decisions and lead their own learning journeys. Here, tamariki explore early literacy and numeracy, self help skills, social skills, science and nature, creative experiences and more!
